Talk:Spitter Gear Set

Not a big deal but I could not manage to display "Spitter's Gear Set" in the info box title instead of "Spitter Gear Set". Also, to better show details of the gear set I willingly took a screenshot in situation as opposite to a screenshot from the inventory panel. I hope it's okay with you. -- Wikiscout (talk) 23:05, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

Ideally every infobox for every weapon, equipment piece and item should have a screenshot that shows it inside of the game. So the image is a good contribution, thank you.

I think - and I'm not an authority - that screenshots showing gear from the UI are better for comparison between different gear sets, as the lightning, the poses, the perspective and the resolution are somewhat normalized. But the UI has the downside of the gear bonuses icons overlapping with the 3D render. I think there is no right or wrong way to do it currently. We should probably add both and try to find a way to disable the bonuses icons for the UI screenshots or to render the images in a tool outside of the game using its models and textures.

The Template:PineInfobox has the Name parameter to override its title with an arbitrary text (though that's currently mainly used on the template sites themselves to show examples). But the set is named Spitter Gear Set in the game. Why do you want to name it Spitter's Gear Set? The name of the article matches how it's called in the game, and the Infobox should also display the name used in the game.

(There is a divergence to this article naming scheme regarding ideas, because in the beta all ideas - with one exception - weren't called X Y Z Idea like now, but just X Y Z and therefore were overlapping with the item names. That's why their article naming scheme is Idea: X Y Z currently, mimicking wiki namespaces. At least for now, that might change one day. The ideas also had their own descriptions different from that of the items An Idea for (a|an|the) ..., which text style is still copy pasted everywhere :D)
